11 June 2010

Even though we had a hail storm a few short days ago, the forest still smells of sweet summer sap. We have all of the proper mosquito bites of June, and we wash our hands of our garden's dirt each evening. The birds wake us in the morning and the frogs lull us to sleep at night. We drink tea brewed by the sun and watch the fresh pink lily pads open one by one on the pond. Oh, and  just the other day we found the most wonderful patch of little wild blueberries growing in the forest. Yes, even though it is a bit cool and gray here for a June day I think summer is surely here.

What do you see?
